this is max bevan.
Born with fuel and racing in his blood, Max Bevan at the age of sEVENTEEN is set to debut in the SPEEDCAR/MIDGET CLASS in the 2023/2024 season.
Max was always destined to race. From a young age, he begged his parents to buy him a race car. It made sense as his father Paul was a successful Speedway driver and his mother Kristy also used to race Supersprints in a Ford Escort MKII. Max always spoke of his determination to race before he was even old enough to do so! And would often be found in the lounge room at 3am watching Speedway even though the house was fast asleep.
Max began his racing journey with racing GoKarts from the age of seven. Max raced in Speedway GoKarts (SKAA) until 2017. During his tenure, he won the NSW Title for his age division in 2015 and in 2016 he won the Australian title. He also won multiple awards for presentation of his kart and accolades attributed to his sportsmanship.
In 2018, Max with the support of his family made the transition to race in the Junior Formula 500 class. An emerging class that is considered the breeding ground for Speedway, Max had alot to learn with a new car, set up and tracks to compete. He passed his theory and practical assessments on his first attempt and so began the next four years (two of which racing was postponed due to COVID-19) of improving himself as a driver and competing throughout New South Wales. He extended his reach and headed to Victoria in the Summer of 2021 and enjoyed a solid display of driving on the Victorian Speedway tracks. Max produced strong consistent podium results whilst competing as a Junior Formula 500 driver. In December 2021, Max placed fifth overall at the Speedweek hosted by the Victorian Formula 500 club. He also finished in the top ten for the Stampede Series hosted by the Victoria Formula 500 club. At the end of the 2021-2022 season, Max was awarded third overall at thge annual Heytesbury Stockfeeds Simpson Speedway awards.
Others have also stood up and taken notice of Max’s driving ability. He is proudly sponsored by prestigious Australian brands Penrite Oil and Bowden’s Own. He is also supported by Top Gun Trailers, Gray’s Race Engines, Liquid Clothing Co, Supercheap Motorcycle Parts, Wollondilly Smash Repairs and JJ Performance & Smash Repairs.
Max’s driving under his father Paul’s mentoring has become an absolutely beautiful thing to witness and you can see those years engaging in any form of Motorsport and conversations pay off as he handles corners, tough racing and the occasional love tap with ease. Max drives with precision, clean racing, a quiet confidence and excellent sportsmanship that is mature and beyond his years. He has really come into his own as a person and competitor. Max has gone from strength to strength since he first started at seven years old. With consistent stellar performances and a journey filled with determination that got him to where he is, it's where he wants to go next and the promise of a bright future that is most exciting.
Max Bevan will go wherever he wants to in racing. His determination has always been there to carry him through and with the support of his family and friends, the sky is truly the limit and we can’t wait to see what he does next.
